Every year, millions of people — often older, often alone at the keyboard — are talked into handing control of their computer to a stranger. It almost always starts the same way: a scary pop-up, a phone call, and the words “let me help you fix it.”

HangUpNow exists for that one moment. It watches for the remote-control tools scammers rely on and freezes the screen the instant one starts — giving a frightened person one clear second to stop, and one plain instruction: hang up now.

Why free

Protection this basic shouldn't have a price tag. The core app is free forever. We'll offer an optional Pro tier later for families who want extras — like a text alert when a loved one is being targeted — but no one will ever have to pay to be safe.

Who builds it

HangUpNow is a product of de Montfort LLC, a small software company. We make tools we'd want on our own parents' computers. We sell software, not data — no ads, no brokers, nothing about your activity ever leaves your PC.
